Don Anderson, Executive Partner
MBA, CDME, CMC

Don is a founding partner of Destination Consultancy Group (DCG) and is now an Executive Partner. Don has over 30 years of extensive industry experience directly related to hospitality operations and tourism management, in which he has completed over 400 assignments since 1975. He has held senior executive positions with a convention and visitors bureau, is a past professional member of the International Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (IACVB) and has two professional credentials in the field-Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) and Certified Management Consultant (CMC). With his wealth of experience with CVBs, hotels, restaurants and retail businesses, Don teaches, advises and conducts research specifically in hospitality/destination leadership and management. Currently he is coauthoring two books in the destination management field, entitled Tourism Destination Marketing and Authentic Brand Pursuits—Strategies for Successful Destination and Community Recognition. Don is also the Director, Office of Professional Development in the School of Consumer and Family Sciences at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. In this capacity, he is in charge of continuing education programs, such as the Executive Program in Destination Management on behalf of DMAI.
